Conveyancing Searches
HOW DO I DO MY SEARCHES?
You don’t have to physically go to the Council or State Government department to get your searches anymore. Most of your searches are done online directly through the QuickLAW program whilst some of the Council searches that can’t
be done online can be posted.
You also have the option if you want, of getting Lawyer Support to do all the searches for you and report back for a fixed fee of $37.50.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
The service is suitable for one (1) conveyance completed through
to settlement for house & land/vacant land/unit/townhouse. You
will be asked to select from one of the following services:
- NSW Purchase
- QLD Purchase
- QLD Transfer between associated parties
- NSW Sale
- QLD Sale

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

Lawyer Support is available
for a small additional fee during the course of your conveyance. It
is optional and normally would not be required.
Examples
of the fees charged (inclusive of GST) are:
Telephone support $17.50 per 10 mins
Perusal of Contract $75.00
Conducting searches $39.50 + search fee
Attend standard settlement $75.00 |
HOW MUCH ARE THE SEARCHES?
The searches are optional but recommended. They vary in
cost depending on the Council. Here’s a range:
Qld Purchase:
- For House & Land/Vacant Land: $300.00-$450.00
- For Units/Townhouses: $500.00-$600.00
Qld Sale: $15.00 (all types)
NSW Purchase:
- For Vacant Land/House and Land: $220.00 - $290.00
- For Unit/Townhouse: $420.00 - $475.00
NSW Sale:
- For Vacant Land/House & Land - $95.00 - $175.00
- For Unit/Townhouse - $150.00 - $230.00
QuickLAW do not impose any surcharge on the searches, so they
are at cost.
ARE
THERE ANY OTHER COSTS I HAVE TO PAY?
You have to pay for:
- Search outlays
- Stamp duty (if buying)
- Registration fees (State government)
You can pay for Lawyer Support as an optional extra.
IS THE CONTRACT INCLUDED IN THE SERVICE?
This question is often asked by Private Sellers (in Qld), or by
NSW sellers generally.
Yes – the REI Contract is included along with a full guide
on how to complete it and tips on what to include and not to include.
Lawyer Support can review the Contract for you for an additional
$75.00.
